After dealing with the disappointment of Gigli, my guess is Ben Affleck is afraid to work with his partner again! The press was BRUTAL - remember?Time Magazine asked the actor whether he had plans to work on a feature film with Jennifer Garner. While Ben admits that Jen is a great actress, he doesn't think the public wants to see them together on the big screen.
"Jen is a great actress. I would be profoundly lucky to work with her. But something tells me that people don't want to see real-life couples together at the movies.""I think audiences have a hard time suspending disbelief. They already know a whole bunch of things about the relationship you have with the other person and if you try and thrust you and another person into a fictional relationship, I think it is distracting."He has a point... Tom Cruise is still the star of 'Mission Impossible 4,' but it looks like he's decided to follow in Harrison Ford's footsteps by having a younger co-star (Shia LaBeouf in the fourth 'Indiana Jones' movie) who may take over the franchise. According to Deadline Hollywood, 'Hurt Locker' star (and Academy Award nominee) Jeremy Renner has been selected to star alongside Tom for the fourth installment of the 'Mission Impossible' franchise.
The studio has struggled to find the right co-star to play an operative opposite Cruise, and one factor was to selecting an actor who could potentially carry the series, should Cruise's Ethan Hunt character not continue to be the emphasis.While Cruise is expected to return for a fifth installment, production chief Adam Goodman wanted a guy who could grow into a leading man in his own right.Did you see Jeremy in 'The Hurt Locker'? He's also been cast in 'The Avengers,' so this won't be his only big studio film.
